Samoan language week

Talofe lava blogger,

This week is Samoan language week.  We have been looking at siapo (also known as tapa) and how they are created.

Did you know that the colors that they use for siapo are all taken from the natural environment in Samoan. For example , turmeric is used to make the color yellow.

We then had a go at creating a siapo using google drawing.

I created my siapo like resize my siapo and move it around and I like my one.  Here is my one........

I like my one and I have one more.

  3. Hi Litia, I really like your siapo pattern. You did a good job on your siapo patterns. Next time you should add a colour for your background. So it can be decorated and beautiful. What is your next step in your siapo pattern? And what did you learn?
